What is CBD?
CBD, or cannabidiol, is a naturally occurring phytocannabinoid compound found in cannabis plants. Unlike another well-known phytocannabinoid, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), CBD is a nonintoxicant compound.
What are some of CBD’s benefits?
Studies show CBD can support homeostasis, promote relaxation and accelerate recovery.

How is CBD made?
CBD is extracted from the hemp plant, sometimes through using a liquid solvent or CO2. Extracted CBD can then be used to create capsules, topicals, tinctures and many other products.
What’s the difference between THC and CBD?
THC and CBD are both naturally occurring phytocannabinoid compounds found in the cannabis plant. While both have medical uses, THC is considered an intoxicant and highly regulated or illegal in many states. CBD, on the other hand, is nonintoxicating. The cannabis plant produces thousands of various phytocannabinoids and terpenoids, but THC and CBD are the most well-researched and discussed.
What’s the difference between marijuana and hemp?
While both hemp and marijuana are considered varieties of the cannabis plant, the primary differentiator between the two is their chemical composition. Both hemp and marijuana can produce CBD and THC, but THC varies greatly according to variety. Hemp is cannabis containing 0.3% or less of THC.
What is the endocannabinoid system?
Each of our cells has an endocannabinoid system (ECS), which is comprised of cannabinoid receptors, cannabinoid signaling molecules and enzymes that control signaling. It is a large receptor system that influences many of our major body systems, and when engaged, helps to keep them running smoothly.
Our bodies create their own cannabinoids – called endocannabinoids – that activate the ECS and help reduce stress, pain and other health issues. If we’re sick, in pain or stressed out, our endocannabinoids become low – and that’s where CBD supplements come in. CBD supplements support our bodies creation of its own endocannabinoids, allowing us to find relief and rebalance.
What is broad-spectrum CBD?
Broad-spectrum CBD (in contrast to CBD isolate) contains a multitude of other naturally occurring phytocannabinoids beyond CBD, which work synergistically to help us find relief and balance.
What is CBD isolate?
CBD isolate is exactly what it sounds like: just pure cannabidiol, minus other cannabinoids, terpenes or flavonoids.
What makes CBD organic?
Organic CBD is derived from hemp cannabis plants cultivated without synthetic pesticides or chemical fertilizers.
